I had bought a new starter and put it in. I connected the ignition wire to the solenoid, once I did connect the wire and then connect the battery, the car is trying to start by itself without any key in the ignition or start position. Any ideas to the problem?

No I do not. Can I just tap the solenoid to see if they shows anything. I have been told to check starter relay switch or it may involve the ignition wiring but not sure where to really look to test.

Saturntech9 IS TALKING ABOUT TWO INEXPENSIVE ITEMS THAT WILL AID YOU AND HIM IN DIAGNOSING AND PROBABLY FIXING THE ISSUE

A SHOP MIGHT DIG INTO YOUR POCKET BOOK IF YOU FINALLY SEND IT THERE

IF THE PRESENT CONDITION WAS NOT HAPPENING BEFORE, I REALLY DOUBT THAT THE WIRING IN THE VEHICLE "CHANGED ITSELF" TO MAKE IT CONSTANTLY CRANK

BELOW ARE PICS OF A VOLTMETER AND A TEST LIGHT. A TEENY TINY INVESTMENT THAT MIGHT GET THINGS SQUARED AWAY.

AT "HARBOR FREIGHT" EITHER ONE CAN BE OBTAINED FOR $6 OR LESS

AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE $5 - $20 FOR EITHER

Saturntech9 CAN EXPLAIN HOW TO USE THEM IF YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR IN THEIR USE, GUESSING AND THROWING PARTS AT IT IS USUALLY WASTED $$$ AND LOTS OF FRUSTRATION!

GOOD LUCK!
