Just to add to this do you have a S model saturn or a L model saturn?If you have a L model is it a LS1 or a LS2 if its a S model is it a SL1 SL 2 SC1SC2 etc?If you have a S model most of the cars i have seen where people have complained it runs rough while in gear or when cold was actual excessive vibration caused by a bad engine or transmission mount.Is the rpm gauge actually bouncing around or do you have just excessive vibration?
