the dash lights are all going crazy

the gauge lights all come on and needles go crazy then lights and go off and seem to be fine. It has done it once while car was in park idoling , and yesterday when drive, but nothing seemed wrong with the car it didnt stall at all

intermittant electrical glitches are pretty hard to pin down. could be lots of causes.
