If you're feeling this in the steering wheel and mainly when accelerating at lower speeds, suspect a worn inner cv joint housing. Most commonly it will be on the longer of the two half shafts and it may show up after the engine has been moved sideways a little such as when replacing an engine mount. That makes the rollers run back and forth in a different section of the housing.
