Double check. I believe there are three screws that are near the top of the filler (near cap) that hold it to the body. Remove them and the other end of the filler should either go directly into the tank or it may be clamped to a rubber hose that goes to the tank. NOTE: There is a smaller hose that is a breather. It will need disconnected too. DO NOT DAMAGE IT. Otherwise, fuel will be very hard to put into the tank.
