Shift Solenoid Valve B

We are trying to replace this sensor, and we cant seem to find it. We have the pan and oil off the car. It is a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT V6 Engine.

You need to remove the transmission oil pan here is a gide that can help.

Can I remove the transmission pan to accesss and replace this solenoid?

By this diagram solenoids are outside the transmission.

Yes, as the pic shows, however, there may be some in pan or enclosed. Try to identify each one visually.

They are on the valve body need to remove fluid and pan. Not a novice repair

There are no sencor in the bottum pan could it b in side pan if so how do we get to it?

Yes side cover DO NOT let check balls fall out on removal

K thanks but one more? Do we have to totally drop the k frame or can we do it part of the way

Part way and should be able to remove solenoid without removal of body. Is it "A" or "B"?

Ther is no code but when get in to 3rd it will not shift down and when u stop it will kill engine and you can start it again but as soon as u put it back in gear it will kill it again and we have done everything else u can do to it and thats the last optionis the sencor

If it was a solenoid a code would be set. Suapect torque converter is locked up

Thats what we wer starting to thank but my dad told us to try the solenooid first to see
