I have a 2000 pontiac grand am gt ram air and a few days ago I started it and there was an annoying squeal. When I turned the wheel it got louder. After driving for a while the noise went away but came back the next time I started it. Im not sure what the problem is and I would appreciate some help.

Sounds like your belt tenisor is failing i check that first turn on the ac see if the belt squeals louder.
