why has my car got no power?

i have a peugeuot 306 xsi 2.0 the battery ran flat after leaving the cd player on and we tried jump starting it and that wouldnt work so we called breakdown cover who couldnt get it started, there is no power what so ever, and they were clueless as to what it could be do you have any ideas as to what it could be and how much it could cost to get repaired?

bench charge the battery and get it load tested, ensure all connections at the battery earth and power are clean and tight, start here.
