Have the main loom checked for any damage, if it was repaired after a smash, the loom may be still damaged and earthing, this is often the case on cheap smash repairs.

Hi mark thanks for the reply, I think it has had a front end smash as the grille bonnet and bumper are a different colour inside what would you suggest would be the best way to check the loom thanks for the help paul

The only way to do this is to do a continuity test back to the ECU of any suspect sensor, but first just have a close inspection along the loom looking for signs of any damage or chaffing.

Ive also noticed today a couple of times when the car has been flat cold it will accelerate fully for approx 1mile then start cutting out, also the boost gauge is flying round to 30psi whenit will accelerate fully could a dodgy actuator be at fault or possibly the previous owner been messing with it?

Have you checked fuel pressure and filters, is it like it is starving for fuel? Or more electrical drop out?

I've replaced fuel pressure sensor Fuel filter and both pumps, I haven't had the pressure tested yet. I did think it was fuel starvation to start with, when it cuts out no lights come on the dash just speedo and rev counter drop to zero the headlights and everything stays on until I turn ignition off and back on
