My car wont start, it wont even bump start, its got plenty of petrol in it, plenty of life in the battery,

Is the starter engaging or is nothing happening? If it is engaging, have you checked to see if there is fuel to the engine as well as spark to the plugs?

I been told my starter motor is no good and needs a new one, but we cant understand why it wont bump start, there is fuel getting though, and there's no spark

Okay... The no spark is the issue. However, it could be a few things, crank sensor, coil... What I would suggest is to have the starter replaced so you can crank the engine and start checking things. You won't be able to check for spark if you have to bump it to crank the engine.
