are they standard nuts and bolts? i usu/ally just try some sockets to see what fits? the exhaust may be worn rusted to a nonstandard size. sometimes i can pound on the next smaller size. you can also buy special sockets for worn/stripped nuts/bolts. also having both american and metric improves your selection for snug fit.

thanks for the reply, i actually haven't seen the car its a friend of mine i was just wondering if anyone knew so i could be prepared with what to take with me. but i have my socket sets so i will take thoes and hope for the best. thanks again for the reply.
