low oil light is back on?

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile alero and just had the head gasket and a bad valve replaced and prior to that was going through oil but no leaks or puddles and after 3 weeks since the repair my low oil light is back on. Is this normal? Went the through oil before repair and is doing it again ?

Oil consumption can come from many different causes and working on a head wouldn't necessarily correct that.
