2000 Nissan Tino Whenever Driving Car After Sometime Automatic Gear Will Return

Whenever am driving my car after sometime the automatic gear will not return back to gear one if i slow down but instead it will go back to gear three. Unless i switch off the engine and restart before it will return to gear one. So what could be the problem?

Could be a electrical problem with shift valves, get a scan done to see if there are any fault codes. they can also do a live transmission scan while they drive the car and watch to see what each valve is doing electrically.
