Having trouble with my 2000 mitsubishi montero sport. Recently replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and pcv valve. After repairs it ran for about a month. Wouldnt start yesterday, computer read the fuel pump driver module was the issue, mechanic said it was the fuel consumption unit. Replaced fuel consumption unit. It started, I drove it around the block. Couple hours later it wouldnt start.

I could not find any reference to the fuel pump driver module and fuel consumption unit in our database. Different definitions of the same component is rather confusing at times.

I believe the fuel pump driver module you mentioned is the fuel pump control module as defined in our database but I could not find anything close to what you described as fuel consumption unit. What component is that?

What computer was used to read the fault as you mentioned and what made the mechanic thinks he is smarter than the computer?

When engine could not be started, was it confirmed that fuel is missing?

Thank you for your response. I couldnt get ahold of the guy to tell you the name of the computer. When he asked the part store for the part they gave him the fuel consumption unit. The part is located inside the vehicle on the passenger side behind the plastic molding near where the passengers feet would go. There's also some relays located there. The part is number mr239764. We both googled the fuelpump driver module which the computer read and found nothing
