I just bought this car for my daughter. When I push the brake lights, the dashboard light comes on and when I turn on the lights, the brake lights stay on. Obviously the brake light wire is connected to the dashboard and the dashboard wire is connected to the brakes. where can I find a free wiring diagram so I can switch the wires?

It's highly doubtful someone went through all the work of switching wires. Check all of the rear bulbs and you'll likely find one with a single contact in the middle in a socket with two contacts. This can also be caused by a chewed-up trailer wiring harness where one of the brake light wires is touching the tail light wire.
