having some idling problems

my mitsubishi colt bakkie doesnt want idle after starting the engine after a long shutoff until i use the priming pump if i heat it up with the glow plugs at the first crank it starts but then cuts off and then becomes hard to start if it starts doesnt idle until i prime with the manual pump

Check for fuel leaks. Most often the leaks ocurs at return hoses and after parking for extended periods, air gets into the system due to the leaks. The leak would normally be minimal and the only sign would be a damp area aroubnd the leak. Check the hoses and clamps for secureness.
