i replaced the alernator but still wont keep charge

Okay, if the alt is new (and good), and the battery is good, make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. If they are, you need to check the fuseable link between the alt and the battery. If it is bad, the alt can be good and it still won't charge the battery.
