2000 Mercury Mountaineer Head lights won't shut off

The head lights won't turn off, we don't manually turn them in and off because they are running on an auto lamp. Even when the truck is shut off, the headlights stay on. Only way to shut them off is to disconnect the positive wjre on the battery. Please help!

have a pro scan it it may be the gem module or drl module screwing up keeping them on.
