Temperature light and engine stalling

Temperature light/ stalling in 2000 mercury marquis with 90,000 miles.the temp light will come and the car will stall for unknown reason, car will restart after couple minutes and run fine.

Has been to the shop with no success because they could not duplicate the problem and everything they thought of checked fine.

? electrical problem.

Check/test the engine coolant temperature sensor also Scan the computer for code/s if any post them -start here
