My Vito cranks over very, very slowly.

I have a 2000 Vito 108cdi. It has been stood for 7 months and I have now tried to start it. The batteries I have used are correct and charged. The van turns over very very slowly and wont fire up. I've bench tested the starter and that was ok. HELP please

does adding a jump/boost have any effect to starting speed? did vehicle start ok before parked/storage?
