The under hood engine covers usually serve 2 purposes: Aesthetic: It looks good, and, to a much lesser extent-assisting with engine cooling. Take it for a decent test drive and put it through its paces hard. Watch the temp gauge. If it climbs much above Normal range, yeah, it might be a good idea.
