how do you change the fuel pump

Removal (Protege)

Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Remove rear seat. Remove fuel pump access cover. Disconnect fuel hoses and electrical connector. Remove fuel pump and sending unit
assembly. Remove fuel pump from assembly.


Installation

To install fuel pump assembly, reverse removal procedure.

What make you think its the fuel pump, did you verify it with a fuel pressure tester-Have you check for spark?

one thing i forgot make sure your fuel shutoff isn't applied.
