2000 Lincoln Town Car Sudden Gear Won T Shift Out Park Stuck Noticed Also

All of a sudden, my gear won't shift out of park. Its stuck. And I noticed also the brake lights are not operating either, don't know if the problems are related or not. I truly appreciate your response. Also, what is the estimated cost to repair such a problem? Also, the car does start up, but just won't shift out of park.

Suspect faulty brake light switch maybe need of adjustment or replacement
