We went to replace the heater core and so we ripped out the dash, put everything back but now when we go to start it, it will crank but not start and there is a flashing light that says there is an open s circuit. What is the s circuit? And what might be wrong?

I can't find anything specific about that message but I would bet that you left something disconnected under the dash.
