2000 jeep cherokee straight 6, 4.0. Only warm heat, not hot. Flushed radiator and heater core. It is getting to operating temperature @ 195-200. I'm not losing fluids and they don't appear to be mixing. What could it be?

Verify that the blend doors and/or heater control valve are functioning properly.

1ST THING--LETS DETERMINE IF THERE IS ADEQUATE HOT RADIATOR JUICE REACHING THE HEATER CORE

FIRE IT UP AND GET YOUR RIG UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE

WHEN THE HEATER CONTROLS ARE DIALED IN TO RUN MY BUTT OUTTA HERE MODE!---BUT YOU HAVE TO PUT A JACKET ON TO BE COMFORTABLE

RUN OUT YONDER UNDER THE HOOD

WATCH OUT FOR THEM PESKY MOVING PARTS--THEY HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO PUT A HURTIN' ON YOU!

FIND THE TWO HEATER HOSES SOMEWHERE JUST BEFORE THEY GO INTO THE FIREWALL TO THE HEATER CORE--A FOOT BACK IS FINE

GRAB THEM PUPPIES BAREHANDED

ARE THEY REALLY HOT?--UNCOMFORTABLE TO HOLD ON TO?

IF SO, WE CAN RULE OUT THE ENGINE HEAT END OF THIS

WE WILL START CHECKIN' ON THE HVAC UNIT ITSELF---OR CONTROLS

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GOT

IMMA CJ KINDA GUY AND KNOW LITTLE ABOUT YOUR RIG---JUST BASIC OPERATION---I DO HAVE ACCESS TO MITCHELL I (ON-LINE REPAIR MANUAL), AND OTHER RESOURCES THAT WILL SORTA SHOW US WHAT TO CHECK

ARE YOU MECHANICAL--DO YOU HAVE AND ARE YOU CAPABLE W/ A VOLTMETER?

ALSO INCLUDE THE EXACT NOMENCLATURE (NAME) OF YOUR RIG, ANYTHING SPECIAL ABOUT YOUR HVAC SYSTEM (OTHER THAN BASIC STANDARD STUFF)

ANY THING ELSE THAT YOU HAVE DONE, OR CHECKED, OR ADDED

DOES THE BLOWER OPERATE CORRECTLY? CAN YOU HEAR IT BETTER WHEN IT SEEMS TO WORK RIGHT? WHAT ABOUT WHEN IT'S NOT RIGHT--FAN SPEEDS SOUND RIGHT?

BEAR WITH ME!

YOUR TURN
