To get my car to start I have to turn the key multiple times

I have to turn key multiple times to get a start. On starter there is a small nut gone from end were the small red wire goes. This wire also is going no where. I do believe once it is touching any bare metal. I can get it to start, but yet and still after a few turns only.

Sounds like you had a starter replaced and somebody did not tighten the screws down. Small wire goes to small post on starter solenoid, it is purple. See diagram.

Well it looks reddish with the hole for the nut side then a two or so inches long until a cutoff end.

Check to see if you can find the other end and fix the wire.
