should there be oil in the camshaft position sensor location

when my car gets too hot it stops running,I had it checked and its the camshaft sensor, when the sensor is pulled out it's covered in oil. I've tried putting in another part but it won't start with a new part but will start with the old part when put back in.

what is the code, a number never identifies a bad part, just a failed system.

yes, there is supposed to oil on the sensor.

The new part could be a misfit or is faulty.
