While running my head lights my break lights stay bright they do not dim down? Also when the head lights are not on the brake lights work fine but the dash light around the mileage lights up when brake is pressed. What could be causing the problem?

Check all your brake light bulbs make sure there the correct one you could have a single element bulb back there instead of a double filament and when you step on the brake it back feeds thru the dash lights.Just make sure you have the correct blub back there.Thats where i would start. Also make sure you don't have any blown fuses.
