reverse gear fails

hi, i have sent my car for repair ,deu to reverse gear failure,the mechanic had opened up the gear box. and service.do i had to change the valve body, is it necessary, and why should i change it.

Could be necessary that's the heart of the transmissiion that's if the problem is coming from there
