My car is sputtering when it's in drive and idling...runs ok otherwise ..except for when I'm pumping gas into the tank it acts like it's full and I have to pump it very slow...is this normal

Is the Malfunction Indicator Light showing? Have you checked for trouble codes?

The fuel refilling problem is not normal and is mostly due to a fault with the EVAP system.
Have the spark plugs and related components checked. Seems the engine is misfiring.
