I need to replace a brake light switch after the rats got to the wiring. Does the trim style, LX or EX have any bearing on this switch replacement; also, what about 2 and 4 wheel drive, does this make any difference in buying a replacement unit for my vehicle?

it shouldn't
Stoplight switch is located under dash, above brake pedal. To adjust, loosen lock nuts and turn switch until plunger is fully depressed (threaded end touching pedal arm pad).
Back off switch 1/4 turn (3/4 turn on Prelude, Odyssey and Accord), and tighten lock nuts. Clearance between threaded end of switch body and brake pedal switch contact pad should be about .010" (.30 mm) on all models except Prelude and Accord. On Prelude and Accord, clearance should be .035" (.90 mm). On all models, ensure brakelights go off when pedal is released. See Fig. 8. Tighten lock nut firmly and connect brake switch connector. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
