2000 Honda CRV that makes noise on the highway. The noise seems to get louder as I get up speed on the interstate. It's almost like a sorta high pitched whining noise. No noticeable driving problems, just the noise. 149,500 miles on it.

Where does it sound like it's coming from? Does the noise change when you turn the wheel? You need to be more specific.

It may be an air leak in your windshield.. or a mechanical problem such as a wheel bearing or tire.

It has had this noise for quite some time - my brother (he knows about cars) said if it was wheel bearing it would have gone out by now. I had the tires rotated this morning and it seems somewhat quieter. When I make a VERY hard left hand turn, I hear the CV joint ticking but very minute and only when making the extreme left. I've had differential fluid changed. Absolutely no other symptom but the whirring noise. Maybe it's just a Honda - they seem to have alot of road noise. Thanks for the reply..
