I could feel the car accelerating without me pressing the gas.

What is wrong if my accelerator keeps going without my foot on the gas, and doesnt stop when I press the brakes or shift to park or neutral? Driving down the road at 45mph As I came to a stop, the brakes were harder to press than usual and the car was making a strange noise. After coming to a stop, I shifted into park and took my foot off the brake and the accelerator continued to act as if I were pressing the gas. I turned the car off and restarted it and the accelerator continued to go. Only after tap the gas a few quick times did it stop.

Clean the idle air control valve and throttle body-

Check for vacuum leakages as well.
