shudder vibration

i have a shudder vibration when braking especially on a winding road. my vehicle is a 2000 GMC Sierra 4x4 Z71. would that be a drive system or brake rotors or transmission problem.

usually a shudder when applying the brakes is a rotor that is warped. they can be recut to take it away but repeated hard stops will do it again. ususally a brake job is in order to repair this. it could be something else but would have to be looked at.
