2000 Gmc Sierra Fan Air Doesn T Work Until Dial On Max 5 Also Noticed That

The fan for air doesn't work until the dial is on max no 5, also noticed that when its turned on the defrost or air condition mode the AC is not kicking on.
Checked the small colored fuses and they are fine.
Any clues?

If the blower only works on high, the blower motor resister is most likely bad. check that first. As far as the AC, you need to check to see if it is charged and the compressor is getting power.
