I own a 2000 Ford Windstar. While driving, the van gave a jump, the rpm's surged and the overdrive light started flashing. I pulled over and checked the owner's manual. It said if the o/d light is flashing while the vehicle is running there is a serious problem Driving 60 on the highway. Van bucked. Motor and rpm's surged and stayed up. I stopped. Checked manual. Said serious transaxle electrical system problem. What is the cause, is it major, what is involved in the repair and is there an estimated cost?
