200 ford windstar

i have a 2000 ford windstar and saturday night i hit a water puddle and it stop working then yesterday it worked just fine. and now today its not working again i think the wires may be lose and where would i first check at if it was. and have relized a ticking when slowing down but when excelling the ticking goes away

It sounds like the Ignition wires may be loose. when it doesn't start, check to see if the engine is getting spark.

what spark am i looking for. it starts just fine if thats what you meen. someone told me to check the cabel but its been to cold to do anything. its worked off and on the last few days thanks for your reply
