mass air flow sensor replacement

What is procedure for replacing this sensor? Would a possible air leak give a false reading?
Car was put on diagnostics and these are the problems that came up.
Engine has acceleration problems.

Make sure there's no air leak between the MAF sensor and throttle body inlet-Try cleaning the MAF sensor with an electronic cleaner CRC and see what happens
