Can I bypass the fitting by putting temp sending unit in place of the fitting and a straight hose in place of the lower T hose?

Not recommended. Remove the hose, clean any corrosion, check hose for wear, replace if needed.

It is not the hose it is the actual fitting that fits into the hose that is corroded and leaks. Why is it not recommended. What will happen? This is a 2000 ranger 3.0 engine and I cant find any peice for this in all the junk yards i've gone to.

We are only allowed to recommend proper repairs, not modifications. Send me a picture of the part. I will be at a buddies salvage yard this weekend. I may find one for you.

Let me know.
