I have no coolant in my oil, no white smoke out the exhaust. No overheating problem, so I dont know if its my headgasket or not. What could be causing this. I just replaced my water pump, after it was leaking. Thanks

On this engine it has 2 hoses that go into the top of the intake. They were hard as a rock and crunched when I squeezed them? Could this be what is causing the problem? Im not sure what they are for exactly?
