While driving long-distance yesterday, my truck started acting strangely, like it lurched when I turned on the lights or the a/c. The battery indicator was also jumping around.

What is the cheapest way to get this fixed?

First thing to do is make sure that the battery terminals are clean and tight, and check the battery with a load test and check that the alternator charge rate is correct.
