mustang transmission problem

2000 mustang v8 standard transmission. sounds like a saw blade slowing down. usually notice it in low gears. clutch pedal inside car vibrates sometimes, if i lift pedal up with foot theres approx 2 inch lift to pedal and vibration stops. could it be time for a new cable. 136,000 miles on car

This i feel is possibly a clutch thrust bearing problem, lifting the pedal will lift the thrust off the pressure plate completely, with noise gone, the problem should be there, the box will have to come out.
