according to the repair manual, I will have to drain a/c system, remove the dashboard, disconnect a/c lines, remove heater box, etc in order to replace heater core. is there an alternate way, possibly cutting open the heater box to allow easier access to the heater core ?
if there is no shortcut, what is the amount of time I should expect to be charged for by a shop (non-dealer) to do the work. I found the part online for about $40, but expect labor to be astronomical
