what kind of code reader do I need for a 2000 ford mustang, coupe, 3.8L? Help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Any OBDII code reader. I've seen them for $50 at autozone. Mine which I'm about to replace is one I got for $60 from the local tool dealer. As the codes it displays are in the included book or many forums out there to help

You need an OBDII code reader. However, different systems, for example the transmission, ABS, Engine, will require different scanners.
