I have a ford focus 1.8 tdi 1st and 3rd gear ara crunching and slipping whats happening and how do you fix it

If it only happening in 1st and 3rd, it sounds like internal transmission problems. Make sure the fluid is full and clean. The slipping sounds clutch related, but that would happen on all gears.
