I have a ford focus (yr=2000).
I have been told that if I disconnect the battery to replace a reverse switch, the central locking may not work when I reconnect the battery.
Is this true?
I also need to identify the correct revers switch as there appears to be 3 different ones.

first, you do not need to remove the battery cable for this repair.

give the vin number to the parts store and they can identify the correct switch
