location of hood release spring on a 2004 ford focus

My daughters hood release broke on her car. All the wires pulled out completely. I am looking for the hood release springs behind the lights but have been unsuccessful. Can you help me out?

Your best and easiest bet is go inside and carefully cut away the outter cable housing and use some vise grips to pull the inner cable to release the hood.
