2000 Ford F-350 Engine Problem with 245000 miles
Driving at low speed or hwy speed tach jumps up or down approx + - 200 rpm engine runs fine does this intermittently
Engine 7.3 diesel. Just changed Altenator with a new one.Tryed Cam position senser no change.

does it feel like the trans is downshifting??? or is it just the motor??

Stick shift. Engine RPM does not feel like its changing RPM truck speed (MPH) does not change there is no surging. looks like indication only.

the tach may be intermittently having an issue. clean all connections otherwise, it may need a tach

Were does the tach pickup its input from.

the pcm which gets it from the crank sensor
