This afternoon my ABS light came on and after parking and turning the ignition key off there was a wurring noise coming from the front. I opened the hood and located the sound - the ABS motor was still running and was hot to the touch. I pulled the relay circuit in order to disconnect the ABS motor. Question: #1. Is it still safe to drive my truck (despite not having the ABS working)? #2. Why would the ABS motor stay running after the ignition key was turned off?

Thank you! Please reply asap as my friend is in town from the East coast for vacation and I am concerned with her (and my) safety in running around town.

Is it safe? Yes, but the ABS system will NOT work if needed. You have traditional style brakes now. As far as the pump, there could be an issue with a sensor causing it.

Please do me one favor. Check to make sure the brake fluid is full and there are no leaks.

Thank you for your response! Really appreciate it! I did check the brake fluid and it was almost full. I will be sure to check for any leaks tomorrow morning! Again, thank you! :)
