While driving and even sitting in park I hear a whinning from my transmission and no from time to time it shutters while driving. It sounds like a power steering pump low on fluid but it comes from the transmission. What could be the problem?

Have you checked the fluid level and condition?

Yes fluid level was fine and it only had a little darkness to it but still normal. I was told it could be the torque converter or solenoid in the transmission pan. But i am looking for other options. The whinning sound gets higher pitched with the revs.

I dont see it being the solenoid making a whining noise your best bet would be to bring it into a transmission shop.
